Beyond academia, Professor Giamas is the Founder, Director, and Chief Scientific Advisor of Stingray Bio, a biotechnology spinout company dedicated to advancing small-molecule inhibitors for cancer therapy from preclinical discovery toward clinical application.

He also occupies several key positions in scientific publishing, serving as the Editor-in-Chief of 'Oncogene', Emeritus Editor-in-Chief and active Associate Editor of 'Cancer Gene Therapy', and Senior Associate Editor of Communications Biology (Nature Portfolio). Additionally, he contributes his expertise to the editorial boards of numerous other international journals.

Thematic pillars of Professor Giamas’ research program include the dissection of cancer cell signalling pathways, the role of the tumour microenvironment (TME), the biology of extracellular vesicles (EVs), and kinase-driven oncogenesis. His work maintains a strong translational emphasis, aiming to translate fundamental discoveries into novel biomarkers and targeted therapeutic strategies.
